Job description 

This is not a B2B copywriter position. We’re after someone who isn’t blinkered by traditional ideas of business writing, marketing, or even media.

Our approach to content – ditching content marketing in favour of stuff people actually want to read and, when we’re going great guns, building publications for our clients – will intrigue you, and cohere with what you’ve already achieved in your career.

You write beautifully and with thought, and you think about content strategically – and then execute on that.

You’ll be a raconteur who can dive into meaty topics and pull out the most interesting argument, often from raw data. You’ll be able to get to grips with complex and unsexy subjects fast, translating them into engaging and succinct content for multiple and sophisticated audiences. And, to do this, you’ll be comfortable, even enjoy, interviewing and collaborating with senior individuals who are shaping their fields.

You may be a recovering journalist, in-house technical writer, content lead, or a specialist writer with specific industry experience in VC, PE, SaaS, fintech or AI.

It goes without saying that you’ll have impeccable self-editing skills, can follow a brief, and respond well to feedback.  

This role requires constant collaboration with clients and, of course, the rest of the HSG senior management team – as well as our amazing freelancers. HSG has a friendly, sociable culture; you’ll be part of a close-knit and ambitious team, never working in isolation.
