The Medical Journalists Awards are open for entry until 00:01 (UK time) on June 1. The 2024 MJA Awards are introducing a new Health and Climate Change Award for coverage, in any medium, which explores the health impacts of climate change. In total, there are 17 categories.
Works submitted must have been first published/broadcast on or between 1 May 2023 and 30 April 2024. Works must be health- or medicine-related and published within the UK or Ireland. Each journalist, editor or team can only enter one work per category but can enter more than one category as long as the works submitted are different.
To enter, scroll down to the end of the page. You can take a look at last year’s winners.
Each winner of the 16 primary awards will receive a £750 cash prize and a trophy. The other award is for the Student Journalist of the Year, with a £250 cash prize and a trophy. The entry is free to members of the MJA, and you can apply to be a member. For non-members, the entry fee is £75 per entry and £20 for the award Student Journalist of the Year.
