COJO Against COVID is an Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project looking at how constructive journalism can be used to support local communities in pandemic recovery. Led by Bournemouth University, the project works with the Solutions Journalism Network (SJN) and the ABSW to offer a series of masterclasses on solutions journalism for any UK journalist and journalism student.
Solutions journalism, rigorous reporting on how people and organisations respond to problems in society, is the main variant of constructive journalism. During these two hours of training, you will learn about what solutions journalism is, why it's important, and the basics of how to do it using some solid examples of Covid-19 solutions stories which are particularly appealing to a UK-based audience.
The masterclasses will be delivered by the SJN, which has trained thousands of journalists worldwide on how to produce solutions journalism. It will be led by Nina Fasciaux, its manager in Europe and International coordinator and Alec Saelens, Revenue Project manager.
